Stockholms Musikteater is the only independent group in Sweden that creates Swedish Musical Theatre. Stockholms Musikteater uses the creative expression of theatre to treat complex material, such as Shakespeare’s sonnets in ” I, William” and the theories of Freud in ”Freud’s Cigarr”. The artistic expression emerges from a flexible, creative form in a way that is easy to understand and it involves the audience in the performance. This way of working makes them unique in the genre. Especially a younger audience appreciates it. The collaboration with Jan-Erik Sääf (composer, librettist) and Andreas Boonstra (Director, librettist) has resulted in musical theatre projects that combine opera and musical in a smaller format than one usually sees. Stockholms Musikteater wants to come close, to move people and entertain through relevant human questions.
