History
Loco Motion started off as an Art Management Office for the performing arts in Sweden. It was founded by Åsa Edgren and Peder Bjurman in 2004. Loco Motion established itself in Sweden, the Nordic Countries and the international artistic landscape in just a few years and found close collaborations with a large number of organizations. Because of this, Loco Motion was quickly able to offer artists and organizations an extensive network within which the right contacts could be found for each individual project. Distribution and visibility are crucial elements when launching new – often unusual – work of unknown artists from a quite unknown region in the world. Not sales, but the visibility of the artist was the main objective in the development of Loco Motion. In this way, Loco Motion distinguishes itself from more traditional sales agencies. In 2008 the idea of presenting Swedish artists at Fairs and Markets in the World emerged. The Fair Project was born. It has been developed by Åsa Edgren and Magnus Nordberg. The work of the office has always been in the service of the artists. The goal and the aim has been to always develop ideas and structures in order to strengthen the art and make production and touring processes more effective.
In 2011 Loco Motion, non-profit organization becomes Loco World AB.
